Entry Requirements

You will need:

  • a good honours degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or relevant experience
  • submit 12 examples of work in the form of images, photographs, 
    drawings or other media, with dates and descriptions of why the projects were 
    undertaken.

English language requirements

  • Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component or equivalent.
  • Cambridge CAE [B]
  • Cambridge CPE [C]
  • GCSE English [C]
  • IGCSE English (as a first or second language) [C]
  • International Baccalaureate (English A or B syllabus or English Literature Standard or Higher level) [Grade 4]
  • AS or A Level English Language or English Literature [A-E]
  • O-level English [C]
  • International Foundation Programmes studied in the UK. We can sometimes accept a certain grade in the English component of the course, usually around 65%. 
  • Pearsons Test of English (Academic) 62 with minimum 51 in each skill, and 54 with minimum 51 in each skill for Art and Design practice-based courses.
  • University of Reading (TEEP)

Curriculum

Module One: Research and Context

  • You will develop a project plan and a professional learning agreement with your tutor to establish the overall aims of your Masters degree project. Lectures, seminars and specialised subject-based workshops are delivered throughout this module.

Module Two: Project Development

  • You will refine and focus on your project through more specialised study, individual activities and subject-specific events.

Module Three: Project Realisation and Presentation

  • You'll focus on independent working towards the final part of your MA project.
