Entry Requirements
- GCSE English grade ‘C’ or equivalent (without this you will need to complete a literacy test) and 80 UCAS points to include either: level 3 Diploma in Theatrical and Media Make-Up (plus 80 UCAS points), level 3 Edexcel National Diploma/GNVQ Adv/AVCE, an A2 qualification in a related subject, Art and Design Foundation Studies, or a relevant Access to HE course.
- We welcome applications from adult learners who can demonstrate a willingness and commitment to study this subject at university level.
- Overseas learners can send evidence of qualifications (IELTS 6), work experience, and a portfolio of their work electronically (or by post) to the Programme Leader.

Curriculum
Year one modules include:
- The Human Body,which explores the visual effects of ageing, death and decay.
- Visual Communication includes life drawing, ceramic/sculpting and basic photography.
- Postiche includes wig making and hair additions.
- Fashion/Editorial Hair and Make up techniques, cover a variety of genres and periods of history.
- Specialist make up includes body painting, bald caps and casualty techniques
- Historical and Contextual understanding looks at the psychology of display.
Year two modules include:
- Advanced Prosthetics, using a variety of media and mold making.
- Digital Media for make-up industries, Historical and Cultural Hairstyling for film and fashion Contemporary Contexts Visual media,exploring character development.
- Freelance Practitioner investigates employability/ business skills. Negotiated
- Study a chosen specialist area of study. Students should be made aware that additional costs for individual projects may be charged at cost.
