About Technische Universität München Asia (TUM Asia)
TUM Asia is the only branch campus of the Technische Universität München (TUM) and is also the first academic venture abroad by any German university. Set up in 2002 by TUM under invitation of the Singapore government, TUM Asia is a one-stop provider of German higher education programmes here in Asia. TUM Asia offers:
- German Engineering-based programmes blended with Asian relevance
- Practical-based coursework that includes a compulsory Internship and Thesis
- German degrees taught in English by German professors that fly into Singapore on an exclusive teaching basis
- Joint German-Singapore degrees to provide students with a cross- cultural academic perspective in this increasingly globalized workforce
- Supplemented by field trips to regional headquarters of German companies and non-technical modules taught by industry experts
TUM Asia currently offers 2 Bachelor degrees and 6 Master degrees, all conferred by our home university, TUM.

Accommodation
Private, off-campus accommodation is the most common form of student accommodation in Singapore. Due to the limited number of rooms in the NTU and NUS campuses, most graduate students find room rentals in public housing the easiest and most fuss-free method of stay in Singapore. These accommodation options are available to students:
- Long-term hostel stay
- Room or housing flat rental in a public apartment
- Room or housing flat rental in a condominium (may include amenities such as a swimming pool and gym)
- Room or housing flat rental in a landed property (includes a private garden and pool at times)
Rental of flat is often shared by fellow students or friends to spread out the cost of rent. Students often rent a flat together so they can use the kitchen to cook as well. Condominiums and private properties typically command a higher rental price compared to public housing.
Campus
TUM Asia moved into a new facility in the beginning of 2015, with the new campus facility equipped with 25, 50 and 75 seater classrooms as well as 150 seater lecture theatres all furnished with air-conditioning, secured door systems, presentation and teaching technology, and classroom furniture that promotes collaborative learning. Discussion rooms, a student lounge and close proximity to a variety of school canteens are other features that students enjoy at TUM Asia.
TUM Asia is located in the SIT@SP (Singapore Institute of Technology @ Singapore Polytechnic) building, on Dover Road. Students enjoy the access to six food courts, including popular franchises like Subway, KFC, McDonalds and Starbucks. TUM Asia’s location, the SIT@SP building, is within walking distance (1km) to the National University of Singapore (NUS) and also to TUM CREATE, a research collaboration set-up pioneered by TUM Asia, between TUM and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
The SIT@SP building is also located within the compound of Singapore Polytechnic and students are able to complete the 5 minute walk to the nearest train (MRT) station fully sheltered from the sun and rain. The nearest train (MRT) station from TUM Asia’s campus is Dover MRT station, on the East-West Line. The same MRT train line will take you to our partner universities, NUS and NTU within 30 minutes.
