Bachelor of Science (Hons) Chemistry

About

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Chemistry programme at UTAR provides students with a comprehensive understanding of chemistry, covering its fundamental principles, practical applications, and emerging interdisciplinary fields. Chemistry plays a vital role in bridging physical sciences with life and applied sciences, impacting industries such as biotechnology, environmental science, materials engineering, and energy production. This programme ensures students develop strong theoretical knowledge alongside practical laboratory skills, including experimental and instrumental techniques.

The curriculum encompasses organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry, while also incorporating modern fields like green chemistry, food chemistry, polymer chemistry, and medicinal chemistry. This programme has been accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) since 2013 and is recognized by the Institute Kimia Malaysia (IKM), allowing graduates to apply for IKM membership and pursue careers in various chemistry-related industries.
