About
This program aims to prepare skilled dental technologists with theoretical and practical knowledge to contribute to dental healthcare effectively. They will learn how to plan, design, and create dental prostheses, including removable dentures. The program will cover basic biomedical sciences taught in the school of medicine.
Technological training will take place in the school of dentistry and dental hospitals. Students in the dental technology program will participate in course elements with undergraduate dental students to promote effective teamwork in their learning and future careers.

Curriculum
Year 1 |
The first year introduces basic medical sciences like anatomy and physiology to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of dentistry. Here is what the students will be learning:
Students also will develop the laboratory skills to fabricate complete dentures, removable partial dentures, and orthodontic appliances. |
Year 2 |
More detailed study of anatomy, physiology, pathology, oral microbiology, oral biology, dental material, and prosthetic technology will be taught. Students will develop the laboratory skills to fabricate cast partial dentures, crown and bridge work, simple occlusal splint construction, and orthodontics appliances. |
Year 3 |
In this course, students will receive training on the laboratory aspects of fixed prosthodontics, including creating crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, and onlays. They will develop laboratory skills to produce intraoral maxillofacial prostheses, orthodontic appliances, and complex occlusal splints. Additionally, the curriculum includes health promotion and education principles, focusing on communication, sociology, and psychology. |
Year 4 | The final year emphasizes the application of knowledge and skills involved in managing complex dental cases like implant-supported crown and bridge work, precision attachments, and extra-oral maxillofacial prostheses. |
