The Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics has been offering the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics curriculum at XMUM since September 2018. The department is home to mathematicians who have graduated from prestigious institutions worldwide. Their competence covers analysis, algebra, geometry, financial mathematics, and statistics. The department offers world-class courses to help students grasp the beauty and applicability of mathematics. The curriculum provides many electives, including pure and applied mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, and business. This freedom enables students to pursue secondary interests and prepare for transdisciplinary professions. Their three-year curriculum prepares graduates to pursue advanced studies or enter the job with confidence.

Entry Requirements
Any of These:
- STPM: A pass in STPM with at least Grade B- (GP 2.7) in 2 subjects, including Mathematics.
- A-LEVEL: A pass in A-Level with at least a Grade B in 2 subjects including Mathematics.
- UEC: A pass in UEC with at least a Grade B in 5 subjects, including Advanced Mathematics.
- Foundation/Matriculation: A pass in Foundation / Matriculation with at least a CGPA 2.0 out of 4.0, including a Grade B in Mathematics.
- Diploma: A pass in Diploma with at least CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 including a Grade B in Mathematics.
