The Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) at the University of Newcastle covers fundamental process engineering topics including:

  • separations involving solids, liquids and gases
  • thermo-fluid engineering

  • mineral processing
  • renewable energies
  • plant design for clean and economical processes
  • project management
  • research

Practical work placement is an essential component of the chemical engineering degree. You are required to undertake 12 weeks of industrial experience throughout your degree. You may also undertake an industry-related project in your final year.

You will also be encouraged to expand upon your experience by participating in the University of Newcastle's student exchange program.
